Today was the first day of the semester for Academy of Art San Francisco. Usually after a break I tend to be a bit rusty but shooting everyday helps. Only had one class and it went pretty well. The instructor was very informational and helping us prepare even more for our careers, which is great. After class was done, I was pretty tired but I had work at 4 p.m. I had a four-hour gap before work started so I decided to head down to Union Square and actually shop and look around since I haven't been there in a while. I ended up actually buying khaki's, which I've been wanting a pair for a while now, but never got to it. After shopping, I met up with Arthur and caught up with one another. Since my leg was hurting, we decided to sit down and have some tea tasting from our friends in Chinatown. Afterwards, decided to check out Lomography on Sutter since I've been meaning to check it out. Store was really cool and friendly. Since I had work, decided to cut it early and head to work. Took Bart down Daly City and took the 28 bus.

Had work from 4 p.m. until closing. Through out those hours of working, it was very slow at Fully Laced today. After closing, Zalo decided to give us a ride down at Civic Center Bart since I'm starting to restore sneakers now. In an edition to that, I'm working on his 2000 Fire Red V's to help me practice and not charging him at all. Took Bart back home and work on photos. A very tiring but productive day in terms of being the last day of January and the first day of school. As for my 366 entry, it's a photo of 79 New Montgomery building. Every now and then they change the window display to certain majors, in this case photography is the current display. On the right you have a sign saying "Welcome Back Students!" and on the left you have a group of selected students/photographers who went to the school and in a way became successful. It's just another way to motivate myself and strive harder to my career goal.

030 of 366 || Restore

Since Mindy was able to cop 1985 Red and White I's for a good price compared to what the seller was asking for, I decided to restore them. For as long as I can remember, I always had certain techniques to restore sneakers but never actually went one hundred percent through with it. I mean we all have our secrets, but I'll try and provide what best works. Pretty much only did some deep cleaning and got rid of the yellowing on the sole. I am only working on the right pair to show a comparison of a before and after with the left shoe. The only major flaw I see that I would have a hassle and difficult time would be one, the heel major heel drag. While cleaning the right pair, I wanted to take out the insole to clean it as well as remove the odor, but in that process, it was pulling on the sole itself so I left it alone. It feels like I can poke a hole through it so I plan to actually provide and support and cushion system to it. Two; the left pair by the toe box has its stitching ripped off. I can either glue or restitching it. I plan to actually restitching it, this way, it looks more natural and last for a longer period of time. Other than that, I am really excited and looking forward to see what how well I bring back this classic sneaker.

And I'm back at it! I haven't been to a Dunkxchange for about almost two years or so. The last time I attended one was in 2010 and probably only gone because of Fully Laced. Got there around 12 in the afternoon and the line was wrapped around the corner. I had a feeling it was going to be a good turn out, but it was better then expected. Overall, a great turn out. Of course thanks to Fully Laced and Curtis as always. Sold two out of three of my shoes thanks to Stephen and Brandon. Mindy ended up getting a great price on her 1985 White/Red I's thanks to Cliff. It was great to see familiar faces (You know who you are) and new faces as well. Can't wait for the next one!
